Copic Coloring: Mani Thanks card

Copic Coloring: Mani Thanks card

The cards I make with shiny glass get lots of attention – and I do so wish I had some way to provide a scientific approach to making glass look glassy. “A stroke of this here, that there….and done!” But glass—and anything shiny—-take on the light and reflections around them, so they’re always different! If you want something specific, my recommendation is Googling a similar image, and doing that a lot til you get the “hang” of making it up yourself the way I do. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

The embossing is on top of the Copic coloring – to try to color over embossing can ruin nibs.

  1. Love this!

  2. My favourite colour is purple so I was so pleased to see you were using this colour to create the nail polish bottle with Sandy. I like the TOP TIP about leaving the outline of the banner until right till the end and then outlining it with a thin black pen. Love this card a lot Sandy thank you for sharing it with us crafters. :O)

  3. Great realistic glass look on my favourite colour of nail polish. Have watched a lot of your glass object videos & although my brain is getting the idea my hand is yet to catch up x

  4. Looks so realistic.

  5. WOW! You totally captured the iridescent quality of the nail polish! I’m in awe of you…

  11. Good ideas here on how to get the shine on! Reflections are always going to be a challenge, but this will help. Love the purples, which I don’t use nearly enough – but I could become a fan! Thanks!
