Airbrushin’ week!
I’m so excited to have finally invested in an air compressor and airbrush system for my crafting! I’ve tried it out in a few classes, and now I get to play for real!
This week I’ll try to share some of my early attempts at it – I’ll ask grace since I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing. LOL. But I played all day yesterday while some friends came over to make cards, and I think I have a few that are tolerable!
This card has just a little airbrush for the grounding of the image; I cut out an oval with a Sizzix die and just airbrushed lightly inside it. The image is the Party Chihuahua HERE!

Copic markers E47 E39 E97 YR14 with some B000 for the eyes, and the balloon isYR09 and YR12. Ears aer RV23. And the airbrushing was done with B14. Sentiment is by SU, paper by MME (Bright Side collection), Fiskars border punch, May Arts ribbon!

Have a fantabulous day!
I can’t wait til this afternoon’s ICSE class – hope you’re coming!

Unless you’re new to my blog, you know I’m in the crazy headspace – and physical space – of a remodel. And oh man, it’s getting old and it’s only been a week! How do you guys do it when it takes months!? Maybe I’m a wuss….or just used to having more control over stuff.
Now, my peeps are doing an awesome job, and are making progress way faster than expected. So don’t read this as a complaint! I’m just ready to be done, to start moving in – and to find my mojo hidden away somewhere in the massive piles of boxes in my house!
They’re saying next week, so I’m hoping for early-in-the-week, even if I suspect the latter portion.
Today the main guy is going to be painting, and I wanted to send him off when he’s done with a card containing payment thus far. He’s been amazing, and no matter how many times I’ve asked him about partial/advance payment, he’s said no. But I’m going to cover what he’s done so far, and make him take off the weekend; he worked last weekend when he wasn’t supposed to, and I wanna be sure he gets time with his kiddos for Easter weekend! So I needed a good card for him….I had this stamped-and-distressed image from SU in my stash box, and it seemed the perfect image for his card! Steve’s got every tool you could ever imagine – and has procured donated tools/supplies when he didn’t already have it. Everything from an extra bucket of primer to a trailer to use for a dumptruck.

Papers are by My Mind’s Eye – from one of the Stella Rose 6×6 pads of dellllliciousness that I got for my birthday. I picked stripes and grid paper, so this card can be entered for the stripes challenge on the S&S blog.
I have today off, so am tackling lots of leftover projects this morning, and will be taking a couple hours this afternoon for quiet time with Ciara to meditate on Good Friday…a long drive to her favorite park. I’m blessed to work for a company that lets us have this day to prepare our hearts for Easter
Then it’s on to Bingo with friends to celebrate my birthday this week!
10 Minute Craft Dash!
I have a little something different for you today, friends – May Arts is sponsoring the 10 Minute Craft Dash over at Paulina Nakamura’s blog, Pretty Pink Posh! And if you watch OWHtv regularly, well….you’ll know that even SOUNDS like something I need to do, right?
Before I go further, I want to welcome new visitors from the challenge blog! I hope you’ll get a cup of coffee and sit down for a little visit. I love hearing your comments and questions, and you’re invited to follow me for daily card inspiration. A little about me – I’m a compulsive [understatement!] crafter, I’m a professional graphic designer by day and the Executive Director for Operation Write Home during my spare time. With OWH I produce a weekly live show, and we’d love for you to join in the fun! Click HERE to see some past episodes. I’ve also got a little monthly test class on StageIt – it’s a little Copic coloring class I do for fun and a wee bit of income, and you can see details HERE for the next one on March 23. Okay, now on to the Dash!
I’m a Ribbonista over at May Arts, so of course I had to get involved in this challenge when I heard the company was sponsoring this. I hope you play too, just look at the yummy ribbon sampler pack you can win! Link up over at Paulina Nakamura’s blog.
The colors are in the challenge banner….so I pulled out some burlap and grosgrain, some scraps of paper, a stamp that needs no coloring (since I don’t have time!) – and got to work. Watch the video to see if I made it on time!
If you enjoyed that bit of live craziness, please come visit OWHtv this Thursday night! The 30 minute webcast starts at 6:30pm Pacific, and will be HERE – if you want a reminder, go like the OWH Facebook page, and the link is reposted there and on our Twitter at 6pm. (It’s also in the sidebar of the Stars and Stamps blog too!)

Java Jive
Hey gang! I keep forgetting to remind you about the Copic class coming up Saturday! I’m stoked to be able to share some tips on hair and skin with a sweet image from Mo Manning. Get your ticket here!
I’m trying to get to the VCMP challenges….and today I have some for the Caffeine Challenge! I think the bunny and mice went for Chamomile, so I’m not so sure it counts
But they’re dang cute!

Copic colors: Tea box E30 YG61 BG93; background YG97 W10 W6 W4 W2; bunny E59 E2 YR32 RV10; Teapot R89 R46 R24; mice C4 C2 E30 RV10

And in case chamomile doesn’t count…here’s a card with a stamped image and sentiment from my crazy image box – I think it’s a Stampin Up set from ages ago, paper by DCWV:

I probably won’t be having any hot drinks – or cold drinks – today….I have an icky dentist appointment
I’m nervous, I have really sensitive teeth – and kinda haven’t been keeping up with dentist visits lately. On a good note the upcoming appointments in the next few weeks are a lot less than I thought I’d have, but….yeah. Hope I live through the day! lol.

Man oh man…I’m having a VCMP all my own. Or maybe it’s me and Kris who should have a VSP – Virtual Shippers Party! I’ve been stamping, tucking, and lining like mad for a good part of the day, then packing boxes….yeep! Where has the day gone!
I got some of the Disappearing Act challenge cards done though – quick n easy with a Fiskars stamp and punch, and a piece of Echo Park 12×12.

And I posted this owl last night as my failed attempt at the embossing challenge…I did add some pearl pen, it was just lookin’ lonely.

Got a video to get cranking on for the rest of the day, so probably no more VCMP cards for me…..but who knows. Maybe that’ll all go fast
May Arts/CardMaker Magazine bloghop!

Welcome to my little stop on the bloghop! I’m so excited that these two great companies are pairing up for this hop.
If you’ve not visited me before, I’m Sandy Allnock, not only lucky to be a ribbonista for May Arts, but also blessed to be the president of Operation Write Home. CardMaker Magazine has done stories on OWH periodically (my chance to publicly say thank you!!!), and we do get cards with notes on the packing slips that they’re readers of CM. We love it! And I hope if you haven’t heard of OWH or visited the site please do – there’s lots of resources there for you!
My card actually uses the sketch posted this week on the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps blog - with of course some additions, you know me! There wasn’t a “spot” designated for any ribbon so I added my own.

Check out the video I made for this bloghop to see how I made the cute little ribbon embellishment:
PRIZE!
Of course it wouldn’t be a May Arts bloghop without goodies! So….one lucky winner commenting on any blog in the hop will win FOUR SPOOLS OF THEIR CHOICE! You’ll want to go hop hop hop til you drop drop drop – then if you win, you can have the same angast as me trying to pick out your ribbon. LOL!

And now….get back to the hop and comment away!

This card was nearly going to be in the ICP….but I ended up replacing it. Partially because I’m pretty sure the stamps are long out of print, but also because I was totally out of the Memory Box paper. LOL. Yep, excuses excuses. But…it was almost AAAAA. You can decide if I cheated ya or not!

The stamping is layered with a bunch of inks that I no longer have; my old Colorbox chalks were drying out, and in between designing this one and prepping the actual videos, I had tossed all the purples. Ooops! Yep. Reason #2 not to make this one for the tutorials in the ICP.
Hope you’re having a wonderful day…I’m heading home from Anaheim this afternoon, and am bushed! Can’t wait to see my babies
Sparkle’s new release: Chocolate Box Ruby!

She’s a girl after my own heart….except I’m not sure she’s picking out the caramels like I do….LOL. I keep a knife handy to cut into them and see what’s inside…not much I dislike more than biting into that blech-y coconut one, or the weird rasbperry creme. Just gimme caramels! haha……..What’s your favorite flavor in a box of chocolates?

Be sure to visit all rest of the SCRS designers for more peeks of Chocolate Box Ruby. Sparkle will be giving away Chocolate Box Ruby to one lucky person! For a chance to win, you need to comment on all of the designer’s blogs (list below). Then head on over to the SCRS blog and comment on the Chocolate Box Ruby post. You have until midnight EST each day to comment. The lucky winner will be announced on Monday!

Playing with my food
And making a CAS card! In the last few months of chaos I’ve gotten off my rhythm…but today I’ve got a CAS Sunday card using my new Paper Smooches stamps that I got from my sweet Secret Santa

I even used some *gasp* leftover Christmas papers! Yes, I found some strays, dangit. I totally thought I had used up every last bit of it. But alas, I hadn’t….I’ll keep sliding in the backsides of the rest as I’m able so I can truly be rid of them all
Copic colors: YR16 Y38 Y17 And those cute brads? Stampin Up!
This weekend I’ve been packing for CHA – I’m leaving a couple days early to go take a 2 day Copic class! And I’ve packed up Christmas decorations. And packed cards as much as I can too, so I’m as caught up as I can before I leave – since I’ll be gone for a week, I’ll have lots to catch up on when I return!
My housesitter will bring mail in, but I don’t think I can talk her into sorting or sending receipts. LOL. Watching my nutty cats is enough trouble for anyone!

Wishin’ Big
I’m going superCAS today!

I had to have a birthday for a guy at work, and I kept it simple….a Stampin Up ‘coon, a star balloon from the OWH Hero Arts Birthday set….SU sentiment, and some kraft paper. I drew the little ground on with a pen.

That’s it! Easypeasylemonsqueezy
Have a fab Sunday, peeps! I’m on my last vacation day – and I plan to get as much done as I can! Wishin’ big for a huge finish to my vacation, wheeeee!
