VCMP Googlie Eye bonus challenge
I decided to do a little online cardmaking on YouTube….and despite crazy tech challenges, came up with a googlie monster card!
Stamp is by Hero Arts, papers by BoBunny, sentiment by SRM Stickers, dies by Sizzix, Copics by…Copic, lol. Go googlie-up something and post a pic in the inlinkz!

Snail mail
I made this little card for one of my sponsored kids – she’s four, and I think this little happy snail will make her smile! I got a fun letter back from my Christmas card to her – I had taken one of those recordable greeting cards from Hallmark and removed the mechanism and put it in my own card. Then recorded a greeting for her. The worker who helped write the letter to me said she just opens and closes it and giggles every time she hears me talking. So cute!
For the attempted airbrushing here, I only masked the shell and body and head on one piece, and then trimmed them to adhere onto a background airbrushed too. I need to do some research about how best to do masking, since I’m just making this up as I go along for now! Colors in the shell: V25 B04; body YR09 YR64; background G07 YG05.

This card’s going in a bubble pack with some fun things in it, so I could go lumpy – so I added these uberlumpy flowers. Gotta use up the lumpies, so they’re going either on AnyHero cards, or ones that won’t cause me massive extra postage!

Papers from MME’s Bright Side; ribbon by May Arts, dies by Sizzix.

I think it’s safe to officially post the card now….since it’s “old news!”
I had to chuckle when this was the one accepted; the others all had Copic coloring on them….and they picked the one without. Heehee!

I used a Tim Holtz die for this…I’m going to have to play with it to see if I can turn it into a spring card now. When I saw the die I only saw it with snow, believe it or not. But maybe I can do a spring scene?
Here’s the magazine page itself…I posted it back in December, but thought I’d repost it with the card itself:

I’m stoked that I have another piece for the Mother’s Day issue….no Copics in that either, so maybe I need to take a hint! haha. I’ll be trying to create something to submit for their Christmas issue; yes, the deadline’s coming up March 5th! Hope you’ll try for something too!

THIS is a real card.
This is also a HILARIOUS card. The stamp is just a riot! I do have to say I struggled on the design, and I’ll be keeping eyes peeled for others using the stamp. It’s a great one for OWH especially – reminding our heroes and their families that their handwriting in a card thing is really special! To highlight the “special” I used tiny pearl pen dots in the white dots of the letters. (Look at the stamp and you’ll see the circles!)

The dotted paper is from Bazzill’s new Heritage line and the stripes are old DCWV; the chevron isn’t, and that was a sliver of a scrap, so I’m not sure who makes it. I created the shape for the sentiment by cutting it as a rectangle first, then feeding it through a circle die – bottom half of the rectangle was on TOP of the die, so it didn’t get cut. Make sense?
I have to apologize for the linkythingie lately; it seems that til blog posts go live, the link manager hasn’t been posting the links. Grrr. I think they upgraded something. I do try to go add it once the post is live if it doesn’t show…but I apologize to those looking for it! Hopefully that will get ironed out so it shows up more easily.

Scrap Wrangler does Christmas!
I didn’t think this was worth a video, but….I did get to use up some small scraps doing these! I picked some matching paper – a 6×6 pad of Little Yellow Bicycle – Once Upon a Christmas. It’s two sided paper, and what I found was using all the darker sides works best; Then when you put an image or sentiment on a light color, it has plenty to contrast with. You could probably do the same kind of thing with all lights and layer with a light color – ie all tans/creams and put a sentiment or image on it that would pop. So be careful, just because I say circle scraps work, if you get more than 3 coordinated colors, you could make a serious mess!
I cut the card base pieces out, and had all those strips on the side. What to do, what to do. CIRCLES! Layered they look really cool….I tried a few layouts. Note that I got “thin” outlines from my dies by combining Spellbinders and Sizzix dies to match them more closely; Using all SB made the black way too thick.
This next one uses the snowman from the Winter Wishes OWH/Hero Arts set:
And I think I really like this layout best – with just a sentiment:
Alrighty….have at it with circles, gals!

Heartfelt Creations: Snowy Scene
I’ve got a new-to-me stamp for you today…it’s by Heartfelt Creations, and a mailbox seems a perfect image for OWH, doesn’t it? I decided to go for a red-white-and-blue color scheme for it, too, and make it one of my AnyHero cards for a fave hero (I don’t get this elaborate with all of them or I’d be making AnyHero cards all day every day! lol!)

Copic colors:B00 B0000 R08 E13 E29 G19 C10 C4 And I’ve placed a little puffypaint on top. Papers by Crate Paper; and that red-white-and-blue ribbon? Some new-to-me from May Arts! Wheeeee!!!
Stay tuned for OWHtv tonight…6:30pm Pacific! It’s gonna be time to announce the winner of the envelopes!!!

I had need of a sympathy card recently…We lost one of our cardmakers recently, and I wanted a card to send to her husband. He told me about just how proud she was to have been a featured cardmaker in June – and she passed shortly thereafter. (Here’s the post.)
I decided to use an SRM sticker for the sentiment – and pair it with last week’s sketch.so I kept it really simple, and embossed and then “dirtied” the mint colored paper with some black ink just a little bit.

Goooood Monday morning to ya! I hope you’re having a great weekend! I’ve got another fun week of blog posts scheduled to share this week….and I’m calling it Holiday Hero Week – using the Hero Arts stamps (the first set of designs) as Christmas or winter stamps! Soon we’ll have the new stamps in-hand, and I wanted to be sure not to forget these lovelies
The first one is a sort of snow globe – with heart ornaments hanging down. When I started this card it wasn’t going to be a snow globe – but when I messed around with how the sentiment should be placed, it immediately became obvious what the card wanted to do on its own!

The red cardstock has a larger hole cut in it than the white – then the two of them are popped together to make the opening seem like something you’re peering into.
Hopscotch!
Happy Hump Day! More Robert Jackson for you today…here’s a little gal playing hopscotch. And she is one seriously talented child, since she’s simultaneously flying a kite! lol. The cloud border, by the way, is from the new Fiskars border punch system.

Copic colors: Hair – black, C7 C5; Flesh E59 E25 E31 E33; dress YR07 Y38; scene W5 W3 W000 B21 B000.
