24 Tags of Christmas 2017: Concertina tags

Concertina tags

The tags this year go from quick ones to more intricate ones….and this is probably the most intricate, but involves no coloring aside from choosing papers. BUT if you have a little child who LOVES to sort things – and I know several kids who just love making piles of matching things!–then do a bunch of diecutting, and ask the kiddos to sort the matching letters! It’ll make assembling the diecuts easy…and maybe if they have tiny fingers they’ll also be able to help put the “puzzle” together with you. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

Giveaway!

As is tradition, I’ll be choosing winners for each of the 24 tags made in these 6 videos – leave comments on the blog as well as on YouTube for more chances to WIN!

Christmas Bible Craft: supply tote!

All week I’m offering up tutorials on my other channel – this is a tote I purchased and altered to be able to watercolor on it. I keep our group’s shared supplies in it; consider having everyone in your group donate a few items, so you have something that guests to your group can borrow. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YT.

Copic color a mirror – Make it Beautiful

I colored something similar to today’s card when I was goofing around a while back, and shared it on Instagram – and got so many requests to share how I did it that I tried to replicate it. Hope it helps! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

We all have girlfriends who could use some encouragement – the Make it Beautiful set has lots of great sentiments to make cards that will lift up a weary heart!

Clean and Simple Christmas Cards – Ellen Hutson Bloghop

Clean and Simple Christmas Cards – Ellen Hutson Bloghop

Welcome to my stop on the bloghop for Ellen Hutson’s new release! There are two designers represented, so be sure to give a big welcome to Brandi! 🙂

Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas Cards

I’m always on the hunt for ways to use up things I have sitting around…and when I saw a stack of watercolor scraps and matched it up with some beautiful and simple dies – I knew I hit on a winner. Note that these could also look lovely using white paper instead of black – with the pop of watercolor showing through, it would be lovely like that! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

My second card, also included in the video, is from one of Brandi’s sets – lots of fun houses, sentiments, and more – be sure to check out Light Parade

And one more bonus card – also from the Light Parade stamp set….there are cute houses that I *gasp* cut apart and stamped down a hillside, then handcut the snowy hillside. Also painted with Hydrus watercolors.

Magical Monday: Copic Coffee and Frappe Shop

Magical Monday: Copic Coffee and Frappe Shop

Magical Monday is back, at least for today! I’ve had so much heavier teaching to do lately, but I decided to take this one easy and just relax with a cup of something yummy. Hope you join me with your favorite beverage while you watch – the ambient soundtrack will hopefully help you feel like you’re on a coffee break too!

Copic Coffee and Frappe Shop

Magical Monday means no voiceover….I hope that you’ll just use your taste-o-vision as I color in all the frappuccinos and get to your favorite flavor! I colored a few of the frappes on a Periscope broadcast a few weeks ago, and oh my – it blew up on Instagram! So I decided maybe I should bring it over here to share with everyone who didn’t get to see that one. The background wasn’t part of the initial plan – but it just seemed to need some soft menu boards in the background. Watch the video below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube!

I just love adding scenes to stamped images – and this one went perfectly with the audio, don’t you think? And the sentiments in this set are great – I think I’ll be using the venti fairly often for cards to send to my closest girlfriends!Sandy Allnock Copic Coffee n Frappe Shop

Elf’d Paper Doll Ballet

Elf’d Paper Doll Ballet

Have you ever had a silly idea – and simply couldn’t REST til it was completed? That’s me. Today. List checked off…short and sweet!

Elf’d Paper Doll Ballet

The “Elf’d” stamp set that my friend Julie designed is quite cute on its own. But….you know me. Crazy ideas came up, and I thought making some new outfits for the little elf would be fabulous FUN. The video is just silliness too, no instruction, but I did do some video magic to create a little ballet! Watch it below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

Instructions:

  1. Purchase the stamp set: Elf’d by Julie Ebersole – or locate it in your craft room.
  2. Download the file: Elfd essential outfits and print it out.
  3. Color with whatever you’d like (I used Copics and a white pen), then trim them out and make some cards!
  4. Share this with your friends who already bought the stamp set too. They’ll thank you for the giggles.
  5. Go drink some syrup!

Christmas Countdown Calendar + Crafty Sales!

Christmas Countdown Calendar + Crafty Sales!

Are your kids excited about Christmas coming up? Make a fun countdown calendar to help them know how many more “sleeps” to wait! (Did anyone else count in sleeps like I did?)

Christmas Countdown Calendar

Sometimes I feel like I make projects that are no-brainers. This is one that I had wanted to make last year and just hadn’t gotten around to it! But the 12 Days stamp set along with Mini Window dies were perfect for a countdown calendar….add this year’s Advent set to it and it’s a ready made calendar treat! Whether you use the 12 Days set inside, or put messages or some other kind of image in  it, this is a happy little project to make. As a matter of fact, if you keep the insides non-Christmassy, this could help count down til ANY anticipated day. Like a child’s birthday! Watch the video below, or click HERE to watch in HD on YouTube!

A few weeks ago when I worked on this, I did a live Periscope broadcast….I painted a page-full of packages, 12 stacked up on top of each other. After going to all that trouble, I suddenly realized I couldn’t run that paper through my die cut machine! haha! So….I re-engineered things and came up with a long strip – this can be hung down low where a small child can reach.
