Munster birthday
Today’s card’s a simple-ish one….I was trying for CAS, but you know how that goes for me! lol. I wanted the contrast between elegant and whimsy – so paired a silly munster from Paper Smooches with some nice flowered paper from October Afternoon. CAS?

Sentiment by SRM stickers.
Gotta love PS!
I’m so excited – the Paper Smooches “PS Patrol” saw my camel card back here – and it’s posted over on their blog! w00t!
Quick post – I’ve got a little more PS to share with today’s card….I went a little retro with some October Afternoon paper and the cutest tv stamp ever made….it’s from the Boob Toob set!

And since this is a short post – I also wanted to share that I have a couple StageIt shows planned!! (Crossing my fingers the technology works this time!) So go check out the two shows – one will be my craft room tour on Sunday, the next will be a coloring class the following Sunday! Click to get deets and sign up!

Renovation update: The hole in the ceiling and wall from removal of the wall is now fully repaired – texture went on today and it looks FAB! And I think I have a paint color! I might be ill once I see it on the walls completely…but I’m gonna just dive in and do it anyway. Yellow. Almost the yellow of the sunshine in this card.
One section, the bumpout for the windows, will be a deep teal. And I’ll paint flowers on the wall to match the bedspread, and then do a light blue ceiling with some sponged clouds. I may decide I’m nuts after it’s painted those colors, but I’m gonna be brave and dive in! Today the electrician comes to assess the work…a little crawlspace prep work is going to be done, and maybe some primer added to the walls.
I created a nice focal point in one corner with a fussycut image and a little ribbon, and pointed to it with the sentiment. The paper is the back of some Basic Grey that has giant alphabet letters on the other side – but I can’t find it online anywhere to hook you up. Nor the ribbon – it’s the new May Arts Lightweight Faux Canvas and it’s a DREAM, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere either. Soon, I hope! I wish CAS cards were as easy and quick as they look. I tried so many things with this one before I settled on this layout!

Have yourself one hippotastic day!

Paper Smooches: L8R, camel!
Renovation update: See yesterday’s OWHtv! The room is HUGE! YEAH!
I’m probably supposed to use the gator stamp with this sentiment, right? I kinda figured this camel out walking the desert would work well with it, since he’s kinda out there solo! And yes, this is probably too CAS for a non-Sunday….but oh well

In coloring this little guy, I decided to leave a light “highlight” even on the dark undersides of the image. I really like how it gives him some crisp definition! Copic colors: E37 E35 E31 Y32

Onesie Bib Card (with Paper Smooches bear!)
Hello peeps! I’m hoping that this prescheduled post finds me able to be back at the office today….I stayed home yesterday to nurse this tooth.
They can’t see me til Friday afternoon, so I’m buckling in with some pain relievers to get me through. (OWHtv could be interesting…lol!)
I made this card for a baby shower I hope to be going to today. It’s a super easy template with circle dies and Labels Eighteen from Spellbinders….and a little stamp from Paper Smooches. The new mama’s having a boy if you can’t tell

Only used two Copic colors on the bear – B21 and BG000. The B colors were a little too blue, so the BG pushed it to go better with the background paper; I know it looks a little bright here but trust me, it works in real life!
I got a new system for shooting pics of my cards and need to work out how to make them not quite this ‘hot.’
Practice!
Hope to see you at the show tonight!

I’m going to see if I can get back to my “Clean and Simple Sundays” series. We’ll see! ha. CAS doesn’t come naturally to me. And maybe this one isn’t really CAS – it’s got a lot of fussycut images, but a CAS layout, does that count? It’s a little bit of a takeoff on the card shared yesterday on the OWH Facebook page.

I got this stamp set from my fabbbbby secret Santa….I just loved coloring these lil veggie images! So much so that they all went on the one card. LOL. Unfortunately the paper I wrote all the colors down on is AWOL. Maybe it’ll show up and I’ll add them to the post!

A little extra treat to make you smile – when I saw the crazy Harlem Shake meme passing around, I just couldn’t resist trying one…and until I found the Harlem Shake Bookmarklet, I didn’t know how I could do a video without a crowd of nuts dressed up in costume. LOL. Thanks moovweb!!

Paper Smooches: Proud Giraffe
Hi everyone! I’m finally getting to post another challenge card from the VCMP this past weekend….jiminy, am I behind or what? I did get a lot done on my to-do list so I guess that’s okay….but I’d have preferred to play along when everyone else was crafting.
I’m submitting this one for the Glitz and Glam (without Glitter!) challenge. I think the pretty pearls along with the supercool half-shiny ribbon do the trick!

Yes, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That ribbon IS half grosgrain, half satin! I had apparently missed it on the May Arts site all that time, but at CHA I saw some and just HAD to get a couple spools. YUM!
The giraffe is by Paper Smooches, and I just colored up a couple of the images from the set – so stinkin’ cute, eh?

And making a CAS card! In the last few months of chaos I’ve gotten off my rhythm…but today I’ve got a CAS Sunday card using my new Paper Smooches stamps that I got from my sweet Secret Santa

I even used some *gasp* leftover Christmas papers! Yes, I found some strays, dangit. I totally thought I had used up every last bit of it. But alas, I hadn’t….I’ll keep sliding in the backsides of the rest as I’m able so I can truly be rid of them all
Copic colors: YR16 Y38 Y17 And those cute brads? Stampin Up!
This weekend I’ve been packing for CHA – I’m leaving a couple days early to go take a 2 day Copic class! And I’ve packed up Christmas decorations. And packed cards as much as I can too, so I’m as caught up as I can before I leave – since I’ll be gone for a week, I’ll have lots to catch up on when I return!
My housesitter will bring mail in, but I don’t think I can talk her into sorting or sending receipts. LOL. Watching my nutty cats is enough trouble for anyone!

It’s an ICSE day!
Hey I’m stoked! It’s the day for our ICSE show for December….2pm we’ll be coloring, so I hope you can join us! You can pick up a ticket HERE anytime til the show is underway. (It’s only $1.) Note that I emailed out the promised pdf to those with tickets as of yesterday, so let me know if you need it sent to you as well (if you got a ticket!).
Before I get further – I’m remiss in reminding you to go see if you WON in the Hero Arts bloghop a few weeks ago! Eeep. Sorry. No winners were chosen from my commenters, but I just LOVE you guys anyway
Alrighty, a little final inspiration before class….these ginormous digis were printed out at 100% from the files over at Paper Smooches and the Alleyway….I’d rarely recommend printing digis this big, lol – however sometimes it can be easier to practice coloring on large images.

Copic Class: Bee Happy
Did everyone have a nice Christmas!?? I hope so! I had a wonderful day – a “poor-man’s group Skype” chat with my family (involved dueling laptops!) in the morning, then visiting with friends and trashtalking over board games
Yeah!
Today I thought I’d share a little more about the ICSE Copic class this weekend….a few things I decided I should probably clarify for you. For one, this isn’t anything official with Copic or anything. It’s just me hanging out with crafters and sharing some tips on Copic coloring. It will mostly be about making a shape look “round” since I found two free digis that are round/ovalish…they’ll lend themselves well to some basic shading practice.
Another thing to be sure to share is that this will NOT be recorded or posted on YouTube. The StageIt platform doesn’t save performances; the idea is to get people to commit to showing up
The more peopl that show up for these special live shows, the more often I’ll be willing to put the time into setting them up, so invite your friends
It’s a half hour show, and they allow a 20-30 minute “encore,” so plan on roughly an hour.
Chat on StageIt is much faster than YouTube, and I’ll be watching chat and interacting more, I hope!

Papers here are by Echo Park, I just love the fresh, clean design!
