Cards for Him: Masculine Cards

masculine cards

The newest class over at Stamp Nation – “Cards For Him Online Class” – is now open for registration!  This is perfectly timed for Father’s Day which is right around the corner, but of course is great for masculine card ideas year-round. (OWHers should be done with Father’s Day…but you know we’re always looking for cards our heroes can send home to menfolk!)

Masculine cards

These are some of the hardest for a lot of us to make. We like foo foo. Flowers. Butterflies. Cute. What do we do for guys?

Today I’m sharing an early prototype for one of the masculine cards in the class – and oh man, it was so hard to engineer I bagged it for class! I couldn’t figure out how to make another one myself, much less teach anyone how to make it! ha! But – in class, there’s a MUCH better and more streamlined card that I developed after learning a bit about paper engineering from this card fail. Well not fail. Just not a replicable card! 🙂

I created a channel for the on/off button, matched it up with a piece of paper that changed the picture on the tv. I had to shim like mad with foam tape to get it to slide and stop in the right places, but when I tried to create it a second time, I couldn’t replicate it. These are great masculine cards, but only if they can actually be made again. LOL! So in class, the version of this that I showed is a bit easier to engineer. Yay for easier!
