Alpha Sticker Week!

First order of business – Please keep praying for our friend Dee – she went into the hospital yesterday, and the end is near. I just didn’t expect things to go this quickly :( If you could go to her featured cardmaker post and leave some love, I’d appreciate it – I’ll be calling her later and if she’s able to chat a little, I hope to read a few of the comments to her.

I’ve been overrun with alphabet stickers…and I can’t seem to get rid of them. I have this bizarre idea I’m going to get busy scrapping someday and will need them. (Ha! As if no one will be selling alphas then, right?) So….this week I’m going to be using alphabet stickers all week!

And…today’s card isn’t SVCAS…I know that. Stay tuned tomorrow for that card…I wanted to be sure to get my Mojo Monday entry posted in time! This is the sketch for the week ending tonight….if you want to play along, click on the sketch! (And guess what – Lawn Fawn has a patterned paper challenge going on this week, how perfect!)

I did leave off the embellishment in the upper left; every time I tried something there it just stole the sunshine from the owl and his lil sentiment, so I left it off. (I was trying to see if I could pull off SVCAS with this card, but I did give up!) The owl is by Lawn Fawn and is colored with E59, E35, E33 and a little B00 to round out the eyeballs. And the pearls and lace? A delightful bit of ribbon from May Arts. Yep, pearls and lace in one! See the links in the doobliedoo to shop til ya drop :)

I did end up getting a vlog put together, despite my concern I wouldn’t have time. Who needs sleep? Lol.  In this one I spent some time clearing up some misconceptions that were recently on tv in Salt Lake – agh. Hate when the wrong guidelines get promoted about our cards!

Have a great end of the weekend … and don’t forget to come back if you need inspiration to get busy using those alpha stickers!

  1. Beautiful owl card, Sandy! I don’t usually think of owls and alphabet stickers with lace and pearls, but you made them look great together. Thank you for your updates about Dee. I left a comment on her “featured cardmaker” post. Will remake my card for her into one for our heroes in her honor.

  4. Thank you for the update on Dee. My card for her will now go directly into the OWH box, instead of the mail tomorrow. I’ve left a comment on her featured cardmaker post. Love your little owl. I’ve also got a ton of alphabet punch outs I bought eons ago when I was doing more scrapbooking. Don’t work to well for cards, unless it’s SHORT words! Another great vlog. Amazing how somethings get out there isn’t it.

  8. Such a beautiful card! I also enjoyed your video about tips concerning OWH. You know, we’ve been trying to do a OWH-centric challenge at Lawnscaping, but we just weren’t really sure how to go about it. Our team leader, Laurel’s husband is in the military, so it’s a cause that’s near and dear to her heart. Thanks so much for playing with us at Lawnscaping!
