Hello there – and happy weekend! It’s been a wild couple days with some big storms around here – and I know life is still a huge challenge for those suffering with flooding after Hurricane Matthew. Please consider making a donation along with me to assist them – the American Red Cross or any other charity you choose. Keep praying, it’s not over yet. I wish I could do more than donate!
Anyhoo – I made a quick little vlog (video blog)….
- sharing a couple of the gifts and cards that Vienna and Giallo have received – including one that has a tutorial on YouTube, so you can make one for a pet you know! (Christmas is coming, you don’t want to forget the fur babies!).
- showing my new address stamp I ordered, it’s one I really like (I know, it’s kinda silly but I do!). I send out so many cards I needed to get one I liked.
- and instead of a rant by me, a link to an important video I hope all women will watch. I believe the First Lady speaks to us all, not as a partisan but as a mom worried about the mess we’ve been witnessing.
Watch the vlog below or click HERE to see it in HD on YouTube.

- And one more late addition – I saw this on twitter last night and wanted to pass it on! Yay Canada!

You go girl! Loved Michelle’s speech and will miss the grace and intellect of our current first family. Thanks for sharing the Canadian post, too. I have friends and family in the UK and Germany who are appalled by the misogyny and hate-filled speech coming from a candidate whose name is not worthy of mention. We ARE a great country made up of amazing women and lots of evolved men!
Such sweet dogs! Love Michelle’s speeches and she is truly a great first lady. I do believe America is great already. We just have a few things we need to work on!
The pups are so cute. Your blog your rules.
WOW – you really are one of a kind, Sandy – the good kind! I shared the Canadian video, awesome. Michelle’s speech was one that will be viewed and admired for years. It was appropriate for you to share your feelings on your blog and you are brave. You gave us an option to listen and I’m so glad I did.
Thank you!
Great post! Thanks for the videos. The one from Canada was so sweet and loving. I had already heard Michele Obama’s speech. She is amazing.
Hi Sandy, I just shared the Canadian video on my FB page. Thanks for posting it is helpful to feel the love from our northern neighbors. And thanks for posting Michele Obama’s speech. You, Sandy are wonderful! I have taken your class at the Queens Ink and learned a ton on the OWH site. I greatly appreciate all that you share.
Love your pups, love your art, not at all impressed with your role model. Thanks for allowing me to freely express my opinion.
Hey Sandy, I just wanted to say thank you for posting Michelle Obama’s speech. I agree with you entirely. I encouraged all the peeps I knew to watch / listen to it. I am pretty caught up in this election cycle and her speech was a breath of fresh air. It helped me personally to stay “high.” New pups are adorbs. I’m not a dog person, but I can appreciate how much they mean to you. THANKS always.
Good for you Sandy !!! Stay strong, how dare these people get mad at you or leave rude remarks when this IS YOUR, I REPEAT YOUR BLOG, for you to say or do whatever you feel. I was just amazed reading the rude remarks from your readers because you decided to leave a link to am amazing powerful speech by a amazing women. No one told them to listen to it, and it is their loss if they chose not to follow you any more, you are a very talented women. And my personal opinion is if you want to share something other than crafty you DO NOT and SHOULD NOT have to wait till the weekend to do it, I think it’s something we call ” FREE SPEECH PEOPLE “. By the way my husband thinks this world would be a lot better world if a “women” was running things, sorry haters, just had to say it.
Thanks , Sandy, for clarifying the difference between your blog and your crafty sites! I by no means disagree with what you are so passionate about here. I just prefer to keep them separate so I will just watch your weekday offerings as you suggest. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for posting the First Lady’s speech. Rachel Maddow edited out the political stump parts down to her main message and it had me in tears! I don’t understand how we can so easily dismiss the rhetoric that seems to foment anti-women attitudes. And then we wonder why men who rape and abuse women get little to no jail time? It too often feels that for each step forward towards equality and inclusiveness we take, there are those who want us to take two steps backwards.
I’m sorry some have taken offense to your standing up for women. My guess is that there’s more going on there — which is sad in and of itself. I’m not a woman of faith as you are, Sandy, but it does my heart good to see you living your faith — too many today simply talk the talk and avoid the walk.
Thank you again!
Thank you for posting this Sandy, and for speaking out. I’m done with women who harm us by saying hush be quiet. Or by trying to censor each other. Let the boys be boys. Don’t make a fuss! Don’t rock the boat! We need more women standing up for honesty, equality, and for raising each other up. We need to encourage and say yes when something moves us. That speech was so inspiring in so many ways, beyond politics. Rock on, girl.
Hi Sandy – Maybe one of the underlying problems we have in this country is that we compartmentalize everything. Our political self is part of our artistic self and our spiritual self and our humorous self. We are complete 3 dimensional beings and I’m sorry that when you express yourself by sharing something you found inspiring, a small number of people willfully turn away from you entirely because they don’t want to hear it. Also, I didn’t feel you were advocating or lecturing in any way. I appreciate that you included the Canadian video because I hadn’t seen that before and it made me well up with emotion! Take care Sandy and enjoy (but stay safe during) this afternoon’s wind storm…:)
Thanks. I was being careful, but apparently not careful enough for some. 🙂
Go share that fab Canadian video, spread some happiness in our world! ❤️
Ooops, you just lost me as a subscriber/follower, no matter how I feel about your artistic skills. Don’t appreciate anyone advising me, as a woman, what is “important”. I get enough of that on the news media. goodbye.
So sorry you feel that I’m not permitted to share what I feel is worth sharing on my own personal blog. See ya round the Internet. 🙂
I believe the first lady has a monumental voice for the world to listen very careful to.If we don’t hear this message our children’s future as a whole is in very serious trouble.
Thank you Sandy for posting this crucial video of our future children.Amen.
I have to agree with the comment from Maryland. There is probably not a person alive who has not already seen that video. I don’t think a stamping site is the appropriate place to see it again. Love your work, but would prefer politics stayed out of it.
I stand by sharing it–this isn’t a corporate site, it’s my blog. I share non crafty things on weekends quite often, so you may wish to only view weekday posts.
Awesome blog today! I will definitely be sharing that Canada video today. Glad to see that others already see our greatness.
Wasn’t that beautiful? It made me so happy!
I don’t like going to a craft site and be lectured on my politics. Please stick to your card and coloring videos.
I share what I find inspiring and important on my blog – because it’s my blog, my voice; on weekends I’ve regularly shared things beyond crafting. You might choose to only read my blog during the week.
Thank you for sharing this, Sandy.
Thanks for being brave and posting Michelle’s speech. I had heard only a few sound bites from it. It moved me to tears. Living outside theUSA, I can tell you that the world is watching. The status of women is under attack and not just women either. Good on ya.
